This image was taken inside the Department of Environment and Energy building, looking up toward the skylight. You can either drive or take public transportation to reach this location. Once inside the building, walk into the center of the foyer on the ground floor and you'll see this skylight directly above you. The skylight in the building of the Department of Environment and Energy can be photographed during any month. Since it's an interior location, there won't be any seasonal changes.

The sun will shine through the ceiling in the morning, midday and late afternoon.

This building is open to the public, but while you're there, please be respectful of the other visitors.

To incorporate the entire scene, I used a wide-angle lens. The wider your lens is, the more you'll be able to fit the skylight into your frame.

To counter the low-light levels inside the building, you could try shooting with a tripod.

Just south of the building is the Wilhelmsburg Island Park, a great place to visit with lots of activities to do, such as rainforest-like mist garden, various sports and exercise areas, five children's playgrounds, canoe rentals and a high ropes course.
