Neue Linie Tree-lined Road

This image was taken along the road Neue Linie in Leipzig. It's best to drive here. First, use your map app to drive to the famous tourist attraction Wolfsdenkmal (the wolf statue). Once you arrive at the statue, you can park your car along the road nearby. Follow the GPS coordinates, going directly north along Neue Linie, to get to where I stood for this perspective.

Looks fest in fall as the leaves turn very colorful. September, October and November are the best months to capture the autumnal colors along Neue Linie.

For similar conditions, visit this road in the morning, midday or late afternoon when it's foggy. The morning will provide the best conditions for fog, but it's also possible to have fog later in the day, too. If there isn't any fog, you can visit during sunrise or sunset when the sun pours through the forest, creating beautiful light.

To bring depth to your image, center yourself in the middle of the frame. You'll be able to capture the texture of the leaves, the vanishing fog and the path from this viewpoint.

Have your model stand in the center, too. I recommend having them ride a bike or walk in the direction of the fog so you can emphasize the vanishing point in the distance.

I used a 40mm focal length here, but I suggest bringing along a telephoto lens, too. An 85mm focal length would be great here!

I recommend checking out the Vineta Church, which is a house of worship that floats on Lake Störmthal. It's about a 20-minute drive from Neue Linie.
