The featured image is a look down of a spiral staircase along Garden Road. The bottom of it places you at the Queensway and Murray Road intersection. It’s easy to navigate to via the GPS coordinate. By MTR: - Closest MTR Station: Central (Island Line & Tsuen Wan Line) - Take exit “J2” - You'll arrive at Charter Garden, walk through the Garden towards the Bank of China Building - Once you reach the road, look left and you'll see the spiral staircase

Tips

When to go

Best season

All months

Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
The spiral staircase is great to photograph any month.
By visiting during the day you’ll have sufficient light to use a fast shutter speed to capture the structure’s detail. Cloudy days are also nice since you can avoid the harsh light.

Field tips

By using a wide-angle lens you can more fully frame the spiral staircase. My image was shot with a phone!
For a look down perspective you’ll have to reach your hands out so the camera is directly above the stairs — don’t drop it! Have your camera strap around you and hold your camera tight.
Experiment with different angles and be patient for the right moment to pass into your frame.
