Lai Chi Kok Residence & Kwai Chung Road Look Down from Cho Yiu Chuen Car Park

The easiest way to get to Cho Yiu Chuen car park is to take the MTR to Lai King station and walk up the hill (step-by-step directions below). Enter the car park on the side and walk to the end that overlooks the freeway and beyond. One you're at the top and set up, take off and fly ESE (East South East) to SE (South East). Have your camera tilt sightly down so you can see the freeway below and follow it towards Lai Chi Kok. This is where the featured image was taken, right above the Lai Chi Kok residences (general GPS area 22.336995, 114.140159). By MTR: - Closest MTR Station: Lai King (Tsuen Wan Line & Tung Chung Line) - Take “Exit A” - Turn right on Lai King Hill Rd and walk up the hill - Look out for the turn off on the left going up King Cho Rd which will lead you to the entrance of the parking lot, on the right of the road

I took this photograph in December, which made for more of a grey scale photo. But I'd suggest going during the summer months or fall, when the sun is out and the skies are blue.

Go during the day time to get as much light shining onto the buildings. This will allow the freeway that runs through (Kwai Chung Road) to be seen clearly.

I used bracketing here as with the cloudy grey day, I wanted to get as many variations of the shot as possible so I can blend them in later.

The way I lined up this shot was to have Kwai Chung Rd cut through the center of photo at an angle, while still maintaining an equal amount of buildings above and below it.

The buildings aren't perfectly proportioned, so try your best to get the edges of the buildings lined up in your frame. You might have to use another app, like SKRWT to align them in post-processing.

Fly towards the container terminals and get some amazing photos of the Hong Kong Terminal from above. Apart from that, there's not much else to do.
