This image is of the façade of Mei King Mansion, taken from the I-Feng Mansion (Block A) in the To Kwa Wan neighborhood of Hong Kong. The easiest way to arrive to this location is by taking the MTR to Ho Man Tin and then following the directions to the GPS / I-Feng Mansion. Upon arrival, find the I-Feng Mansion on Mei King street — it's a white estate complex with different angles. You can start exploring the ground level first, then head straight to the lifts to go inside this building and get this view. Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
This pink residence of the Mei King Mansion is great to photograph any month of year.
It’s best to visit during the day when the sun is out — it’ll help to accentuate the facade’s structure as well enhancing the pastel colors of the building.

Field tips

Be respectful as this is a residential building. I recommend only bringing your camera out when taking the photo, so you don't disturb anyone.
Experiment with the focal lengths! You can either go wide to get more of the building or you can zoom into the details like I did. If you zoom in, try using a focal length around 60mm. This is a great focal length to zoom into the pink building.
Don't worry about having the exact same spot for this composition as this mansion is a complex with many similar buildings. It offers a great deal of different angle opportunities and colorful facades all around.

Do nearby

To Kwa Wan is one of the oldest residential areas in Hong Kong. Filled with old buildings and architecture, I strongly recommend exploring the area to discover its rich history. It’s also great for street photography!
While you’re here, check out the Cattle Depot Artist Village. It's a a former slaughterhouse that has now been renovated and turned into an art studio. (63號 Ma Tau Kok Rd, To Kwa Wan)
