When to go
Best season
January, February
The Buddha Tooth Relic is only exceptionally lit and decorated during Chinese New Year (which dates change, so make sure to check!). That said, it’s still beautiful to visit any month of the year.
At night the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple lights up, as well as the lights from the Singapore skyline.
Field tips
By using a wide-angle lens (16-35mm) you can capture the magnitude of both the temple and Singapore skyline.
I recommend using a tripod. When I composed this shot, I had two legs of my tripod over the stairway railing!
I chose to focus my composition primarily on the temple and skyline, and not much of the sky - but do what suits you!
To capture the car lights you’ll want to shoot a long exposure (~30 seconds).
Be quiet and mindful of the neighbors in the apartment block, who are typically elderly.
