Supertree Grove view of Marina Bay Sands

This location is within the Supertree Grove area of the Gardens by the Bay in the Marina Bay Sands’ integrated resort. It can be easily access via the overhead bridge (Lions Bridge) located at Marina Bay Sands Hotel or the underground linkway via Bayfront MRT Station. To get to this specific spot, enter the Gardens by the Bay via the overhead bridge from the Marina Bay Sands, follow signs to the Supertree Grove and take Lift “C” or stairs down to the area. Walk straight and to the left behind the first Super Tree grove in front of you, turn around, and you should see the Marina Bay Sands hotel in the background! This is where I took the photograph. All months of the year you can photograph the Gardens by the Bay.

At night the Gardens by the Bay illuminate and are much more beautiful to photograph than in daytime. Visit during a weekday to avoid the flood of crowds, as it’s one of Singapore’s most popular tourist destinations.

Use a wide-angle (14mm) or fish eye lens to capture the magnitude of the Super Trees and Marina Bay Sands hotel in the background.

The Supertrees' lights are constantly changing in brightness, so be patient with your long exposures until you to capture that perfect glow.

Experiment with how you compose the Skywalk to cross your shot. I shot in landscape orientation but rotated the image to be portrait, which I think gives it a more surreal effect.
