This location is on the overhead bridge near York Hill Road along the Central Expressway (CTE). The bridge is a prominent feature once you reach York Hill Rd. There are pathways on both ends of Chin Swee Rd that lead up towards the overhead bridge. Once on the bridge, face southwest towards York Hill to shoot a similar perspective.
By MRT:
- Closest MRT Station: Outram Park (North East Line and East West Line)
- Take exit “C”
- Head northwest on Outram Rd toward Outram Park
- Turn right onto Chin Swee Rd
- Proceed towards York Hill Road

All months are suitable to photograph from this overhead bridge.
Visit during the week around rush hour (sunset thru early evening) so you can take advantage of the passing traffic and bring more motion to your image!
Field tips
By using a wide-angle lens (11mm) you will be able to frame the expressway in its entirety.
A tripod is critical for you to smoothly capture motion from the passing cars. I placed mine in the center of the bridge.
Patience pays off! I waited around 20 minutes for the right moment. Notice the man in the center walking along York Hill Road? This created a nice contrast between the moving man and moving traffic.
Turn around! The view northeast is also great to photograph.
