This photo was taken inside a 7-storey pagoda, which are a part of the Chinese Gardens in Singapore. For this perspective, I had my model stand on the exterior viewing platform, peering through one of the windows while I was inside the pagoda. The best way to get here is to take public transportation and then walk a short distance. By MRT: - Closest station: Chinese Garden (via East West Line) - Head south and reference the GPS coordinates

Tips

When to go

Best season

All months

Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
Since there isn't any landscape in this shot, you'll be able to photograph from the 7-storey pagoda in the Chinese Garden year round.
It can be a little dark once you're inside the pagoda. Make sure you visit during the daytime to ensure you have ample amount of sunlight.

Field tips

A lens that's too narrow won't allow you to shoot from the interior of the pagoda and a lens that's too wide won't compress the scene enough. For reference, I shot this photo with a 35mm lens.
I think it's best to stand at an angle so you can create more depth and dimension.
I encourage you to get creative with how you photograph your portrait, but try not to block the model's face with the design of the architecture.
