Singapore Polytechnic Basketball Courts Look Down

These are the basketball courts of Singapore Polytechnic. Take the train to Dover MRT (EW Line), walk towards Singapore Polytechnic through the main gates and you will see McDonalds. Walk past McDonalds towards Foodcourt 3 or Singapore Polytechnic Poly Centre, and you will see the courts on your right. Go down the stairs from the Foodcourt 3 and you will reach the basketball courts. Another landmark you can view from Google Maps will be the Singapore Polytechnic Car Park E-4. All months of the year are suitable to photograph the courts. Rain or shine you should be able to capture a great shot.

During mid-day natural sunlight will best shine onto the courts, making you (or your model) more visible in the composition (the harsher the light the better). Soft light will also work, although the dimmer the light the less the colors will pop.

A permit is required if flying a drone weighing more than 7kg, within 5km of an airport/military base, or higher than 200 feet.

Remember to wear contrasting colors so you are most visible on the basketball court.

Symmetry is key for this composition; try flying your drone right smack in the middle of the courts!

Play with different angles; your composition doesn’t have to have three courts to be symmetrical – it can be one court too. :)
