The Whampoa Mall and Whampoa Garden residential buildings can be photographed during any month of the year.

At night, the boat-shaped mall and residential buildings are aglow in neon colours.

Before flying a drone, check and follow local drone regulations.

This is a busy area with a fair amount of drone interference from the surrounding buildings — make sure to take special care when flying. The courtyard opposite has a clear line of sight with the ship and will be the safest place to fly directly up without losing connection.

Try to incorporate the residential buildings so that the colors of the mall really pop in the photo.

Other than this view, I also suggest flying higher and shooting from a bird's eye perspective.

I also recommend checking out the Kerry Hotel, which is not too far down the harbour. It's a nice spot to grab a drink and watch the boats go by along the water.
