As one of the biggest churches in Hong Kong, this late 19th-century English Gothic revival church not only offers a silent mood but also a sense of the magnificent. Visit at the right time and you’ll witness light rays peering through the windows.

Late afternoon
Any month is great to visit the church as the sunlight doesn’t change the scene much.
In the late-afternoon (before sunset) the light tends to project best on the cathedral. You may see light rays emanating from the ceiling windows — it’s an amazing moment to photograph!
Field tips
Keep quiet. People may be praying at the cathedral so be sure not to disturb them.
Don't use flash inside the cathedral. Since the inside is a bit dark, consider using a tripod and doing a long exposure. Otherwise, try using a lens with a larger aperture (~f/2.8) which allows your camera to capture more light (I didn’t use a tripod for the featured image).
I recommend using a wide-angle lens (12mm) and to photograph horizontally. This will help you capture the entirety of the catherdral and its beautifully designed symmetrical architecture. You can even get a reflective composition!
If you’re photographing a model try placing them in the middle of the corridor.
