The featured image was taken from the car park (ground level) at Robinson Garden Apartments. It’s far from public transportation and requires ~20 minutes to walk. From here you will have great views of Conduit Road, Robinson Road and the Bank of China Tower. The apartment complex has 4 blocks. I stood in the car park of the southern most block (reference the GPS coordinate for context). This block can be entered at the intersection of Conduit Road & Glenealy. By MTR: - Closest MTR Station: Hong Kong (Tung Chung Line & Airport Express) - Take “Exit C” - Turn right to Des Voeux Road Central - Go straight until you reach Queen Victoria Street - Turn left onto Queen Victoria Street. - Take the Central Mid-Level Escalator up to Conduit Road, which is on your opposite right Address: Robinson Garden Apartment, 3-3G Robinson Rd, Mid-level, Hong Kong

Tips

When to go

Best season

All months

Best time

Night
All months are great to photograph from this car park. The view isn’t affected by the season.
I recommend visiting at night when you can easily capture car light trails from doing a long exposure. It’s also great to simply enjoy one of the most incredible night views in the world.

Field tips

By using an ultra-wide lens (12mm) you can capture the car light trails (which will be close to you) and the city’s skyscrapers (which will be far from you).
Defintely bring along your tripod for night photography. If you didn’t, try using the car park concrete to keep your camera stable.
Try creating light trails by doing a long exposure (mine was 10 seconds) of the passing cars beneath you. Be patient for the right amount of traffic to pass into your frame.
