Tips
When to go
Best season
All months
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
All months are suitable to photograph from the footbridge — but visit soon as the neon lit signboards are being removed and increasingly uncommon.
The featured image was taken mid-day, but this area is great to photograph anytime — it’s always busy and daytime vs. night will give your image a different feel. Rainy days are also photogenic when people are using umbrellas.
Field tips
By using telephoto lens (120mm) you'll compress the length of Toi Choi Street and all that’s interesting about it: the red minibuses, neon signages and pedestrians.
With so much action on the road being patient for the right moment usually pays off.
Don’t forget to bring along your tripod if you’re visiting at night. The neon lights are great to photograph.
