When to go
All months of the year are suitable to photograph from the Lugard Road Lookout.
The featured image was taken at sunrise as the sun cast a beautiful glow onto Victoria Harbor and the skyline. Visit any time — day or night — for different but beautiful views!
Field tips
Most people just photograph on Lugard Road itself, but consider climbing up the rocks behind the road to get a particularly nice vantage point. Be bold, but be careful, especially if it’s been raining.
If you’re coming for sunset or sunrise, make sure to leave enough time (~30mm) for you to transit to the location to set-up your shot.
By using a wide-angle lens (35min) you can maximize your capture of Victoria Harbour and some of its iconic buildings, like Central Plaza and the International Finance Centre (IFC).
You can beautifully capture the city lights with a long exposure, so bring along a tripod if you have one.
This is also a great location for a drone! There’s so many different perspectives to capture.
