I took this photo on the pedestrian bridge above Outram Road. You'll see stairs leading up to the bridge and you can stand on either end for your composition.
By MRT:
- Closest MRT Station: Outram Park (East West Line & North East Line)
- Take "Exit B" and make your way to the main road
- Head northwest. When you see the bus stop (Outram Pk St), make your way up the stairs leading to the pedestrian path
Tips
When to go
Best season
All months
Best time
Night, Midnight+
You can find similar conditions at the bridge during any time of the year.
I happened to be at the bridge at night and really liked how the night sky brought a moody feel to my image. The peripherals are dark and only the center is lit, so this further accentuated the model in the middle of the photo.
Field tips
By using a wide-angle lens (16mm) I was able to elongate the photo and emphasize the leading lines of the bridge railings.
You can bring symmetry to your image by standing in the middle of the bridge. I also suggest positioning your model in the middle of the frame, as well.
Whether you decide to bring a model along, or wait for a stranger to pass by, it's up to you! I prefer minimalism so I snapped my shot when the subject was farther away.
